Hair, Skin, Sunset and truth.
I was in conversation with two young men who embody creativity, talent and hard work in Music and Art.
Bizz is an artiste and a songwriter. His music is embodied with a unique sound and his music are on various music platforms. Phyll is an artiste, songwriter and a producer; his tracks are fire! Together they are a creative duo with an undeniable artistic chemistry. And they like to be called ”the lonely boys”.
This photo series is to explore the truth behind photo candid, and they gave me an access to their next adventures after schooling here in LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.
SUE – So you are moving to Lagos in few months from now. How scary is it moving away from school and starting out on your own?
BIZZ – Omo, o le o. O le baje!
SUE – Is it stable where you are moving to?… is everything set up?
PHYLL – Not yet. We just have to figure it out as we go. It is going to be hard at first, very hard but we are chasing our dreams. So…
SUE – The way you two record new sounds everyday, it is like you have a whole set of music for the next two years or something.
BIZZ – Yes, something like that. We have our sound already – something we have made our own – we are moving to a city that will provide us more opportunities to reach a wider audience.
This is a fragment of our conversations over the past months all layered into this summarized text. Music is what they breathe; they found a way to make it work for them and they have never stopped. It has been thrilling watching these two produce new songs, feature artistes and put their work on platforms. They make me push myself harder because we realize this – yes, our environment is shitty and not encouraging but it is still part of our success stories.
