TURNING 23 AND MARKING VICTORIES | BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY

This post is loaded with a lot of incentives and self admiration, get ready and keep reading for the birthday giveaway challenge.

TURNING 23

Nothing has changed to be honest about my physical appearance. I am still that thick, short lady with the nerdy glasses and loud laugh. Uhm… I think my hair grew a few inches longer though.

MARKING MY VICTORIES

I am grateful for those who trusted me enough to write professionally for them and paid for my service(s) till I was able to buy myself one of the things I had always wanted to use to improve my craft as a storyteller – a camera. I have been using it to capture images of a lot of people – muses – a lot of which are on my portfolio page! http://blackprowriter.com/portfolio/

I am grateful for the abundance of love and support I receive from my friends. I remember telling someone few nights ago how lucky I was to have the kind of friends that I have. I am immensely grateful for the positive energy surrounding me and how I get motivated by just watching them pursue their dreams and improve their crafts. You are reading this and I want you to know that I love y’all.

I am grateful for how far I have grown as a creator. Five years ago, I was writing as a hobby and I was not making money from it. I did not have the professional experience that I have now. I could not boldly call myself a writer because I did not think I deserved that title. But with a tremendous amount of progress, I have grown to become a writer, a content creator and a visual storyteller.

LISTING MY PLANS

‘’2019 is my fucking year”

This has been my mantra since the beginning of February. This year, I am not letting self doubt win. I am speaking for myself and choosing to do the right things to living a fulfilling life.

I am starting my podcast ‘’ALL THE THINGS I’VE WANTED TO SAY’’. It has been a project I see as a challenge because I used to cringe at the sound of my own voice but to be a writer is to be a bold speaker. I will be publishing a separate post about my upcoming podcast which will be available in all platforms by March. This is the exciting news I have wanted to share here and I cannot wait to share the grittiest stories that you never knew you needed to hear.

I am focusing more as a storyteller this year because I am particularly interested in visual storytelling. Words are as important to me as visual and as we have observed for some months now, visual is the quickest way to reach your target audience. So expect more visually compelling documentaries here and on my social media platforms. Are you following me on instagram, though?

Finally, I am planning on collaborating with creative minds this year. I want to grow my brand, yes but I am also interested in growing a community of creative Nigerians from the scratch, which is why you have been seeing me collaborating with other people in my previous posts. More to come! Email me if you have got something.
